Dead Capital Protocol
Tokenizing Formal and Informal Property Rights to create verifiable collateral
What it is
- Fetches validated assets from our multi-validator verification API (property ownership verified by 3+ independent
validators with geolocation and timestamp proof). This can also include gold, copper cathodes, treasury bills and formal real estate. - Aggregates consensus data and formats asset metadata for on-chain registration
- Submits to smart contracts via KeystoneForwarder to trigger asset registration and stablecoin minting
- Provides callback confirmation to update asset status and notify owners
Where CRE fits:
CRE is the critical decentralized orchestration layer that bridges our off-chain validation system with on-chain asset tokenization. It enables us to:
- Maintain decentralization: No single point of failure for asset registration
- Ensure security: Validator consensus is cryptographically verified before blockchain submission
- Automate at scale: Process hundreds of validated assets daily without manual intervention
- Provide transparency: All asset registrations are triggered through decentralized compute, not centralized servers
Impact:
Apart from verified assets, we're unlocking "dead capital" - the $20+ trillion in informal property assets globally
that can't be used as collateral due to lack of documentation. Our pilot focuses on Zambia, where 70% of property is informally held.
CRE enables us to scale this solution across emerging markets. A fully functioning protocol can lead to the formation of mortgage markets in emerging markets.
How it Works
It was built using PHP for the application prototype that is meant for off-chain validation as well as onboarding of owners and their assets
The CRE Workflow is built using TypeScript
Smart Contract are build with Solidity
