Chainlink Co-Founder Sergey Nazarov Appointed to CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee

NEW YORK – February 12, 2026 – Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that Chainlink Co-Founder Sergey Nazarov has been appointed to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC), launched and sponsored by CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig.

The IAC brings together senior leaders from across traditional finance, leading market infrastructure providers, and trailblazers across the digital asset industry, with the express purpose of advising the Commission on financial technology innovation. The committee is providing recommendations on how emerging technologies, including blockchain and artificial intelligence, are transforming derivatives and commodity markets and how that impacts the pace of regulatory innovation.

Chairman Selig’s launch and sponsorship of the IAC underscores the CFTC’s commitment to future-proof its regulatory framework by engaging directly with key industry leaders. The committee will support the Commission’s efforts to develop clear market structure regulations while maintaining clear market integrity and oversight.

Nazarov joins a distinguished group of global financial and technology leaders, including executives from Nasdaq, CME Group, Intercontinental Exchange, Coinbase, Robinhood, and other major institutions, spanning financial market infrastructure and digital assets.

"I’m honored to be appointed to serve on the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee alongside leaders from across traditional and decentralized finance,” said Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink. “It’s great to see the CFTC proactively engaging with industry to develop clear rules that strengthen innovation and reinforce America’s leadership in global markets.

Chainlink already powers the majority of decentralized finance and is now helping bring capital markets onchain. Our inclusion in this dialogue signals that oracles are being recognized as core market infrastructure for the next generation of financial markets. As financial assets move onchain, secure and reliable infrastructure across data, interoperability, privacy, and compliance is becoming critical. We look forward to sharing our experience and supporting the Commission’s efforts to modernize the financial system."

Chainlink provides the secure data, interoperability, and compliance infrastructure that enables financial institutions and decentralized applications to operate across blockchain networks. As tokenized assets and onchain financial products continue to expand, oracle platforms play a critical role in connecting blockchain-based systems to real-world data and existing financial infrastructure.
